At Texas Groundwater Drilling, we are dedicated to providing reliable and efficient well drilling services in central Texas. Our mission is to ensure access to clean and sustainable groundwater for all our clients. As a former TCEQ employee, sustainability and conservation is our highest priority.

The Edwards Aquifer is one of the most productive groundwater systems in the United States, formed within highly fractured and dissolved limestone that creates sinkholes, caves, and fast‑moving underground channels. It stretches roughly 180 miles across South‑Central Texas and supplies water to more than two million people, including San Antonio. Rainfall enters primarily through the Recharge Zone, where faults and fissures allow water to sink rapidly into the limestone before moving down‑gradient into the confined artesian portions of the aquifer.
Its unique geology makes it both incredibly efficient at storing and transmitting water and highly sensitive to drought, land use, and contamination risks. Springs fed by the aquifer—like Comal and San Marcos—support endangered species and shape the region’s ecology and history
🌧️ From rainfall to infiltration
When rain hits the ground, some evaporates or runs off, but the portion that infiltrates seeps into the soil. Coarse, loose soils (sand, gravel) let water pass quickly, while clay-rich soils slow it down.
🪨 Percolation through the subsurface
Gravity pulls the infiltrated water deeper. As it moves, the soil and rock act as a natural filter, trapping sediments and many contaminants. Water continues downward through pores, fractures, and spaces between grains.

At Texas Groundwater Drilling, we take pride in our commitment to sustainable drilling practices. We use energy-efficient equipment and drilling methods that minimize our impact on the environment.
